Pop the Spring Box!

Happy spring! The wait for spring is always a daunting one for me. And yet, even if sometimes it takes awhile, God's creation always starts to wake up a bit this time of year. As He redeems and restores the earth, I love that with springtime comes the reminder that through Christ, we, too, get to begin and bloom again. Full of eco-friendly and terracotta-inspired goodies, your Spring Box was curated with sustainability and practicality in mind. Each product is good for the planet and comes from a female-founded small business. I hope they brighten up your kitchen (and maybe even your soul) just a little bit this season.

Check out what is included in this spring’s Inspired by Brooke Box:

TINY TERRACOTTA - SEED SPROUTING KIT // MODERN SPROUT

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that somehow I've become kind of a #plantlady. I've been trying to figure out a way to include a plant in a box for awhile... enter Modern Sprout. Their mission is simple: to uncomplicate indoor gardening and to encourage purposeful planting. They are dedicated to making our community and earth a better place by donating to the Pollinator Partnership for ecosystem protection and by partnering with the Heartland Alliance to provide jobs for Chicago’s most vulnerable residents. Follow the directions included with the kit, and let's see if we can grow some flowers together this spring!

BEESWAX WRAPS “BEEGINNER” SET // SUPERBEE

SuperBee is a family-owned social enterprise based in the mountains of northern Thailand supporting plastic-free living through sustainable, ethically made eco-homeware. They aim to produce high-quality, effective replacements and educate others in the process, while providing safe and fair-paying jobs, especially to women, in an under-served, rural area. These antibacterial beeswax wraps are a great way to start your journey towards reducing waste in your home. Wrap everything from half an avocado to a bowl of leftovers. Just be sure to hand wash only.

FOOD HUGGER REUSABLE SNACK BAG // FOOD HUGGERS

Did you know the average American family of four throws away $1600 a year in wasted food? I recently learned that there is more food in US landfills than anything else. Food Huggers' goal is to help people reduce waste at home (also saving you money). Use your new Food Hugger bag to take your favorite snacks on the go, and you'll also love that it replaces hundreds of single-use plastic baggies, stands up and stays open, allows for easy pouring in/out, AND is dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe...What?!

TEAK WOOD SALAD SERVERS & SMALL SERVING TRAY // BALI HARVEST

Bali Harvest specializes in handcrafted wooden and woven home goods made by artisan teams in Bali, Indonesia. They focus on fair-trade, sustainability, better economic welfare, and children’s education for their artisan families. Their teak wood products are made from reclaimed wood from old furniture waste that would otherwise be thrown away. When I saw the small tray, I knew it would be perfect for displaying a candle and your new little flower pot next to your kitchen sink. With gardening (aka salad) season on the horizon, I also had to include these gorgeous salad servers to up your salad serving game. So pretty!

Bali Harvest is the same company that did the straw clutch in last summer’s box… I love working with this brand!

WILD BEE OVEN MITT // RAINE & HUMBLE

Speaking of the kitchen, I hope you love this cute, new oven mitt (made of recycled cotton) next time you're whipping up a batch of blueberry muffins or pulling rolls out of the oven for Easter dinner. With an emphasis on earth-friendly materials and an eye for charming patterns and prints, Raine & Humble is a family-run business sharing heartfelt, ethically made designs from their home in Australia to the world. Love that this cute print fits in with the bee-theme of the beeswax wraps in this box, too!

As you use your new planet-friendly products and watch God’s creation come back to life this season (in the form of green grass, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc), I hope you’ll also remember that God sent His Son to reach and restore YOU, too. This is what the Easter season is all about: “For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him (Jesus), and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in Heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1:19-20)

Thank you for supporting so many small businesses through your Spring Box purchase AND for helping our planet in the process.
