Hello, Sunshine! If your life feels anything like mine right now, you might be walking into summer feeling a little like your tank is on empty. My prayer for the Summer Box is that these goodies will bring a smile to your face and the message behind them will bring some encouragement to your soul. It is so easy to turn to all.the.fun.things as a way to fill your tank during the summertime. But oftentimes by doing so, we find ourselves even more burnt out than before. May I remind you (and myself, too) that true fullness, strength, and joy only come from the Lord? Amidst all our fun summer plans, let us also choose to spend time with our Creator. To sit still in His presence. To quiet our souls to hear His voice. To allow Him to wash over us with His peace. And to experience all He has promised us... fullness of JOY!

Most of us spend a lot of time making sure everyone else has everything they need to survive and thrive; and we often forget about ourselves. As you pour your favorite cold beverage this summer (iced coffee, lemonade, sparkling water, a smoothie, maybe even a cocktail?!), may it remind you to spend time with Jesus and allow Him to fill YOU up. Note: hand washing is recommended, but the cup should be safe in top rack of dishwasher. Hand wash the lid and feel free to cut the straw to your preferred length!
WOVEN TOTE BAG // GITZELL FAIRTRADE
Gitzell FairTrade is a black-and-women-owned, US-based home decor brand that works with women weavers in Africa who produce hand-woven baskets for decor, shopping, and storage. Their mission is to make weaving economically sustainable for their producers. This tote bag was beautifully handwoven in Kenya from sisal fiber, a sustainable renewable resource derived from the Agave plant, making it a 100% biodegradable alternative to plastic. I've been using mine for the last several months and love it! With uses such as a beach bag, pool tote, carry-on or weekender, crafting caddy, farmer's market basket, or picnic basket, I'm confident you'll find lots of ways to use this sturdy storage solution this summer! Fun fact: while each bag is neutral in color, each one is unique and you may have received one of several different patterns in the Summer Box. Pro tip: if your bag needs some reshaping after shipping, just put some stuff in it and hang it up for awhile and it will reshape. I also found that mine reshaped pretty quickly just by using it frequently!

Now that you have a new tote, you need a pouch to make finding your keys and phone a little easier in your bag! I love that this colorful design would also make a cute clutch on its own for date night or dinner out with the girls this summer. Made from embroidered fabric from India, it is one of many beautiful bags by Lu & Elle, a brand that blends travel, community, and giving back. Inspired by the Southern California lifestyle, their bags are thoughtfully designed and embody a relaxed yet playful wanderlust vibe. Each year they give a portion of retail sales to charity (last year: Baby2Baby and Traveling Paws)!
MACRAME EARRINGS // THE WEATHERED WILLOW
Lauren, owner and creator behind The Weathered Willow, is a friend-of-a-friend who recently started her own business of handmade macrame decor & accessories. I was gifted a couple pairs of her earrings over the last year and fell in love with her designs (and so did all of you because I always get so many compliments whenever I wear them). She was thrilled to do an exclusive style just for our Summer Box! I think you will love these sunshine-y, lightweight earrings for pool days, beach days, and all the days in between! I love that she sources all of her earring materials from other female-owned small businesses. Fun fact: her cord is even eco-friendly and made from recycled cotton threads!

P.S. Why the switch to packing peanuts, you ask? Well, as the cost of everything in our current economy goes up and in an attempt to not have to cut products or raise my prices, peanuts are cheaper than crinkle paper. I also think they make for safer shipments if there are any breakable items in a box. Feel free to reuse them next time you ship something or give a gift. Otherwise you can throw them in your normal trash bin (not recycle). They are 100% biodegradable and will dissolve in water!
